Old Dressers, New Address, Good Friends

Today has been a really terrific day! Three great things happened today. First of all, WE GOT THE HOUSE WE WANTED! We are very thankful to God for providing well beyond what we need and giving us this amazing home to live in for the next two years! Our new address will be:

8903 Anderson Chase
Converse, TX 78109

Here are some pics we took when we first saw it. They are confusing and not very intentional, so I'll take better ones once we're down there.
I love it and I am SO excited to soak in that tub!

The second cool thing that happened today was that I finished refinishing my three dressers! WOOHOO! I am extremely happy to be done! I loved it and had a ton of fun doing it, but three dressers for my very first refinishing project right before a big move was a little much. I learned a lot though, and look forward to doing it again.

First I'll show the old German dresser I bought at Goodwill for $15. I didn't take a 'before,' so here is the 'after!' Please excuse the horrid background of the garage.I bought the hardware for it today, and I'm really happy with it for the most part, but I could really use some feedback here. From top to bottom, the drawers get larger, so I got bought large knobs for the bottom 2 drawers, medium knobs for the middle 2, and little knobs for the 2 at the top.

Look closely - what do you think? Should I do all uniform, all unifor except the top 2, keep it as is, or what?

Now here is the armoire dresser from the old family set, before and after (after doesn't do it justice):
And here is the vanity dresser, before and after:
Beautiful wood, huh? I am really happy with how they turned out. I kept the original hardware on these. I think they were silver as new, but have aged and look beautiful and antique now, so I left them as is.

The third really great thing today was that we got to have dinner with all the other youth leaders one last time! Robby, Amanda, Ben, Tami, Erin, Matt, and the two of us all went to Kona and they surprised us with a very thughtful and nostalgic gift. It included this book with a note from each of them inside,
This DVD of "Facing the Giants," a kinda cheese ball Christian football movie that we watched on the night of our not-so-favorite event, the Babysitting Fundraiser Night,
A pack of tennis balls to remember the times we played with Robby and Amanda,

A 2 lb bag of awesome coffee, the same kind that Robby, Erin, Tami, Pat, and I lived off of on this year's ski trip,
And finally a certificate for a night out on the River Walk at the fine
It was a really fabulous day and I feel so blessed. God has really given me a wonderful life filled with fun opportunities and unforgettable people. I'm going to miss you all terribly, but I'm thankful for even a taste of the fellowship to come in eternity!

The dressers look fab! I love the hardware, don't think you should change it. It goes with the style. Good job! You are so talented! LOVE the house! Looks so nice, can't wait to see it decorated, looks like coppsie will have a great yard to play in. Great gifts too! How fun for friends! Now Mike will have to travel to the RW with you, no excuses now! :)

Francey- The dressers are beautiful. It was inspiring to me because I want bedroom furniture and don't want to spend thousands of dollars. Your house is really nice too. We watched Facing the Giants and it is cheesy but such a good message.

Sounds so sweet! I'm excited to see how the house looks after you've settled in! :) I agree about Facing the Giants, there's a really neat kinda christian movie I saw recently that didn't feel so cheesy though (and didn't tell you it's message) it was a bit different than normal movies but beautifully done artistically. And the music in it is nice too-it's called Bella. Also-have you seen the movie Once?? :)
Sounds like a beautiful day-what a sweet glimpse of eternity...
Hope this finds you well and rejoicing in our glorious Savior!
