Slacker

My dear friend Stephanie told me today that I have been a slacker in keeping up with my blog. She's right and I'll take it as a compliment since it means that at least one person reads it. Thanks, Steph!

Lately our lives have been channelled toward the move. Michael has been taking steps at work toward splitting, and has been moving on getting ready to buy a motorcycle when we get to TX. He has already taken a 3-day motorcycle safety course on base, earned his liscence, and bought himself a protective jacket, military-specified vest, leather gloves, and Shawn gave him a helmet! Youch, what a good-looking biker!Meanwhile, I've been working at home on a couple different projects. I've been going from room to room pitching and organizing. I love to organize (the act of organizing, not necessarily staying organized), so it's not really a chore for me. A little more interestingly, I've been working on refinishing some furniture! My parents recently gave us 2 bedroom dressers that have been in the fam for a while.
I've always loved them, and would like to use them in our bedroom, so with Mom's ok, I decided to stain them a mahogany color to match our bedframe. I went out and bought a power sander (my first power tool!), lots of sand paper, goggles, and a face mask. Seriously: SO much fun!! I've always loved working with wood but have never known what to do or how to do it. With this project I just started and I am really loving it! I hope to complete them before we move. I'll post pictures of the finished products... when they're finished.

So that has been our lives for the past few weeks! We are very excited about the move and are excited for new opportunities to grow closer together and closer to the Lord as we rest on our unchanging Rock while our lives will be changing greatly!

See, I knew you could do it! I can't wait to see the finished dressers, how fun! Mike looks like a rider now! Happy Anny!
