Mike and I have started the Holiday Season out right! Last Wednesday we drove over to Phoenix, AZ (a 14-hour trip) to spend Thanksgiving with his parents. He had a test that morning which had taken a lot of prep, but God graciously allowed him to do VERY well on it, so we were able to take off without school on the brain! We had such a great time with Mom and Dad Padilla and can't wait to see them again over the new year, along with Travis, Candy, and our nephew Truman!

We got home on Sunday and on Monday Mike had a short day at work so we got to hang out all day! I love when that happens. Around 5pm we thought it would be fun to go to Peter Piper Pizza, which is just like Chuck E Cheese's - terrible pizza and all. I had never been and Mike wanted to show me, so we got a pizza and spent way to much on tokens to play some games. We spent mos of our time at Ski Ball where I totally dominated him. :) When we were counting our tickets a group of kids formed around us and were cheering us on because we had so many! We were the only people over 12 who were actually playing the games, but we had a blast!

After picking out a few pieces of worthless prizes we went to pick out our Christmas tree. Since it was December 1st, we decided to start a new Christmas tradition: every year December 1st will be the day that we go pick out our tree and decorate it! Growing up my family always made a fun evening of decorating the tree. My mom would make chocolate chip and sugar cookies and we'd drink eggnog out of special glasses and listen to Christmas music. Those are some of my favorite memories! I've tried to keep that going in my little family, and we love it.
